Set deep in the heart of South Wairarapa dairy country, this new home is a response to the land on which it sits and the farming clients who live here. Reminiscent of dairy sheds and traditional rural materiality this house belongs to its surroundings.
A new urban home on a challenging section led to a unique response. Long and thin, the building allows for an abundance of light. The simple, elegant form of the building sits easily in this small farming town and speaks to the owners rural roots.
This new cinema in Martinborough required a fit out to match a contemporary purpose built building. The requirements of this cinema, restaurant and bar were highly specialised to ensure several different functions could co-exist comfortably.
Originally an abattoir, this 1860s barn has been converted into an airy modern home for a large family. Innovative use of natural materials and preservation of the existing building where possible has resulted in a highly original and versatile building.
